Did you ever hear the story of the attack at Main Street Park
It happened at the gazebo, about ten minutes after dark
We’d opened up our cases, got our instruments all in tune
The folks had all, taken their seats, out under the harvest moon
There were cracks in the floorboards, cobwebs on the ceiling
We started picking, started singing, then I got this awful feeling
There’s something watching me. Bill said, I feel it too
The he yelled, Lookout now! It’s crawling on your shoe!
chorus
GAZEBO SPIDER! Be careful what you do
Don’t drop your pick, don’t you reach down, if he bites you, you’re through
He’s mean and he’s fast, and he’ll take a great big chomp
Only one way to stop him, play the Bluegrass Spider Stomp!
Well first she threw a water bottle, then she threw her shoe
Little Sherry was runnin in circles, her face was turning blue
She raised up her mandolin, high above her head
And with a crash! in the key of B, that Gazebo Spider was dead
